Ang Cute Ng Ina Mo - Luis Manzano / Anne Curtis

LUIS Manzano's first movie was a trilogy, "All About Love," and he starred in just one episode with Anne Curtis. Their team up was well received by their fans so they're now paired in a full length film, "Ang Cute ng Ina Mo." Although they click so well on screen, they say they've never really been romantically involved in real life.

"We consider each other as soul mates, after knowing one another for seven years, even
before I joined showbiz." says Luis. "We've been so close but we've never been really on,
although we don't discount the possibility na puede pa ring maging kami later on." Anne admits that the first time she saw Luis, she told her friends: "Magiging boylet ko `yan."
"But it never happened," she says. "Or it could, hindi pa lang nangyayari. We don't really
know naman what will happen, di ba?"

In "Cute ng Ina Mo," Anne plays the estranged daughter in the U.S. of Ai Ai de las Alas, who lives in Malabon. After 20 years, Anne's dad still wants to marry Ai Ai even if she abandoned them years ago, so Anne goes to Malabon to find evidence that will show her dad that her biological mom is not worthy of his love. She meets Luis, the "anak-anakan" of Ai Ai, and he helps her discover the good qualities of the mom she hates so much.

The movie is a rollicking comedy from Wenn Deramas, who made Ai Ai's earlier hits, "Tanging Ina" and "Kapag Tumibok Ang Puso." "It also has touching moments of drama about mother and daughter relationships," he adds. Going back to Luis, has he ever told his own mom, the Vilma Santos, that she's cute? "My mom is so makulit," he says. "She's the type who'll enter my room several times just to ask me kung kakain ba ako, kahit sabihin kong busog na ako. She's cute dahil sa kakulitan niya." How does he feel now that his mom is running as Batangas governor? "My mom has so many accomplishments both as an actress and as a public official. I'm confident that she can excel in whatever field or position she chooses to devote her time on."
